The 17th International Festival “Koliada na Maizliakh” Took Place

From December 26–28, 2025, the Church of Christ the King at the Basilian Monastery in Ivano-Frankivsk hosted the 17th International Festival “Koliada na Maizliakh.” For the seventeenth time, this joyful celebration gathered the community to glorify the birth of Jesus Christ through the rich tradition of Christmas caroling.

Over the course of three festive days, the church welcomed large numbers of faithful, musicians, choirs, and performers who filled the space with vibrant kolyadas praising the newborn Savior. Among those in attendance were representatives of local government, the cultural sector, clergy, youth, children, and many residents of Ivano-Frankivsk who came to share in the celebration.

Throughout the festival, people from various regions of Ukraine came together in Ivano-Frankivsk to unite in song and prayer. The festival also featured carols from different parts of the world, including the United States, Canada, Germany, Spain, and Slovakia, highlighting the international character of this cherished event.

On the final day of the festival, December 28, an Archierarchical Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Church of Christ the King and presided over by Archbishop and Metropolitan of Ivano-Frankivsk, Bishop Volodymyr Viityshyn.

At the conclusion of the gala concert, the Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ruslan Martsinkiv, addressed those present. He expressed his sincere gratitude to the organizers of the festival and to all who contributed to its success, emphasizing the importance of this event for the life of the city. In particular, the mayor thanked the clergy of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and the Basilian Fathers for the Church’s constant support and for their shared prayer with the community.
